Accountant Keeley Davis was asked to find out who has been stealing money from Bingham Brothers Investment Firm. She goes undercover as Cherry Smith, personal assistant to Dane.

While working in such close quarters, they become sexually involved in a very steamy relationship. As much as Keely is attracted to him, she doesn't trust him with her heart or her past. She doesn't tell him much about herself, and especially not about her days supporting herself as a stripper. She isn't ready to let her heart go and get broken so easily and experienced too many critical judgements from others.

Marie Donavan keeps the heat on throughout the entire book with witty banter, and characters so lifelike they could walk off the pages. The story was well researched, and extremely realistic. She proves women can be smart and beautiful in the same package. Her hero was handsome but could be protective and caring. Sex by the Numbers was packed with emotion, but the heat is off the scale in this page turner.

Brianna MacLeod recently lost her father and was left as laird of her clan. She decided that she needed a child more than anything to secure her position, but with her husband recently killed she needs another man. So she holds the clan who she beleives did it responsible and kidnaps Ewan to use him for stud service.

Ewan Fraser is kidnapped, tied up and chained to Brianna's bed. The last thing he expected was to that she would use him in this way. Yet, the longer he spends in her bed, the more he is determined to be a man she keeps.

This story was actually quite sweet. Ewan and Brianna had met much earlier and promised themselves to one another when they were children, despite their clans being sworn enemies. If things had transpired without interference they may have married and been happy from the beginning, but years passed and there is emotional pain to overcome before they can truly be free to love again. I wouldn't say that having a femal laird of the clan would be accurate for fifteenth century Scotland, but this was a good book overall.
